Integrative Nurse Coach Foundations

INCCP Part 136 Hours12 Weeks

The INCCP curriculum is grounded in clinical knowledge, practice, research, and evidence-based protocols.

Nurse Coaching practice recognizes the totality of the human being – the interconnectedness of Life Balance/Satisfaction, Relationships, Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, Physical/ Nutrition, Weight, Environment and Health Responsibility. This awareness further enhances the nurse’s cultural/gender perspective of all individuals and results in relationship-based care approach to the human and global community, and permits nurses to use this awareness to facilitate the healing process within their care of patients and for self. Self-transformation of the nurse is an outcome. Many find nurse coaching to provide the framework needed for integrative therapy delivery. A network of support is available among the Nurse Coach community.

Integrative Nurse Coach Practicum

INCCP Part 260 Hours16 Weeks

The Nurse Coach Practicum program provides a guided experience and immersion into individual and group coaching experiences with peers and clients.

Coaching competencies and skills are refined through continued study, and the support from a community of learners and master nurse coaches. One-to-one conversation, transcript feedback and observation by experienced nurse coach supervisors, mentors students into the possibilities of the profession of nurse coaching. The experience fosters the confidence to plan and implement group and individual coaching sessions.

This program provides the contact hours necessary for national board certification (HN-BC or HWNC-BC) through the American Holistic Nurse Credentialing Corporation (http://www.ahncc.org/certification/holistic-nurse-coach/). Achieving certification requires a committed effort of developing the skills and competencies required for national board certification. Assigned colleague practice partners use coaching techniques and mindful awareness practices, and provide reflection on the experience. Each student will arrange for individual and group client coaching experiences for additional practice, transcript writ-up and feedback. The program will culminate in an observed coaching session by the nurse coach supervisor.

Students are required to review the nurse coach certification requirements to decide if they will meet standards set (http://www.ahncc.org/certification/holistic-nurse-coach/). Additional individual study is suggested for exam preparation.

Reviews from our Graduates

"INCCP has given me the opportunity to bring 2 of my nursing passions together: end of-life care advocacy & health promotion. I clearly see the impact nurses have when we engage people living with chronic illness in coaching conversations. We are better able to support them to focus on their wellbeing & quality of living as a priority.”
